The Empire State Building
Iconic skyscraper of New York City, the Empire State Building stands among the tallest buildings on the planet. Located on the prestigious Fifth Avenue, it rises to a height of 381 meters and offers views of the entire city from its 102nd floor.
Its construction began in March 1930 and was completed in May 1931. In an Art Deco style, the Empire State Building was the tallest skyscraper in New York for many years. Today, it ranks second after the One World Trade Center.
A must-visit for all tourists coming to New York, the Empire State Building is often crowded. To avoid long lines and crowds on its observation deck, we recommend visiting between 8 am and 10 am in the morning, or later at night from 11 pm or midnight when the city is fully illuminated. The Empire State Building is open from 8 am to 2 am! Admission is $37 to reach the 86th floor and $57 to go up to the 102nd.
Good to know: The Empire State Building observatory is wheelchair accessible.
Top of The Rock, at The Rockefeller Center
In Art Deco style, the Rockefeller Center is another iconic building in New York City. Designated as a historic landmark, it offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the city. Indeed, its viewpoints are spread across three different levels. To the east, you can admire the Chrysler Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Hudson River. Further south, the Empire State Building stands out against the skyline. On the north side, the view of Central Park is breathtaking!
Open until midnight, Top of The Rock provides stunning views of the city throughout the day, culminating in New York sparkling with lights at nightfall. The visit costs $29 per adult and $18 per child under 12.
